December Construction Update

As always, here’s your monthly construction update. There are some very exciting new changes coming to the Branson area!

 

New Spa Open at Big Cedar LodgeBig Cedar Lodge Spa

Big Cedar Lodge’s Cedar Creek Spa just opened this month, sporting a full-service salon, indoor hot tubs, fireplaces, an indoor grotto pool and many more lavish amenities for guests. A number of spa packages and treatments are available for guests. The new spa is 18,000 square feet of serene, rustic relaxation.

The completion date for Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Balloon has been announced. The Branson Landing’s newest attraction is set to open on March 1, 2015. The waterfront balloon will take riders 180 feet up in the air and rotate 360 degrees for panoramic views of the downtown Branson area.

Bass Pro Shops is funding the roundabout construction at Missouri 86 and Ridgedale. The road work is expected to continue until April 2015. If you’re driving in that area, be aware and watch for reduced speed limit signs.

 

Branson Gets a New Nature CenterFish Hatchery

The Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery is set to get a major makeover with a brand new nature center in the works. The new nature center has an estimated completion date of summer 2017 and will be similar to the nature center in Springfield, Mo. The current visitor center is more than 30 years old and is 2,500 square feet, compared to Springfield’s nature center which measures more than 15,000 square feet.

Head to the Ice Rink This Holiday Season

Christmas is the perfect time of the year to enjoy traditional holiday activities like making a snowman, sipping cups of hot cocoa, wrapping presents and ice skating.

Luckily, Jordan Valley Ice Park in Springfield, Mo. is just a short drive from Branson and provides families with plenty of opportunity to go ice skating, catch a hockey game or enjoy the talents of the Figure Skating Club.

A day trip to Springfield during the holiday season is a great way to work in some ice skating and with convenient open skate hours, cheap skate rentals and a small admission fee, Jordan Valley Ice Park is perfect for families looking for some holiday fun.

While in Springfield, catch a showing of the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker at the Gillioz Theatre, visit one of the many local coffee shops downtown and enjoy a warm beverage and close out the day with a visit to the original Bass Pro Shops where Santa will be waiting to greet the kids and look over their Christmas lists!

While visiting Branson, take a day to enjoy the activities at Jordan Valley Ice Park in nearby Springfield and celebrate the holidays in the best way possible — with family time.

Meet Santa at Bass Pro Shops This Weekend

Santa’s Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield is kicking off for the seventh year in a row this weekend.

This Saturday, head to Bass Pro Shops in Branson or Springfield, just a scenic half hour drive from Branson, and visit Santa while exploring one of the most amazing outdoor shops in America.

This weekend is a special preview weekend with $25 gift card giveaways every half hour from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., and free hot chocolate and cookies during certain hours.

If you can’t make it out to Bass Pro Shops this weekend for the preview event, bring the kids to get their free photo with Santa when it’s most convenient for you. Free photos with Santa are available weekdays from 3 p.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. and Sundays noon- 5 p.m.

Free crafts are also available for the kids to take part in weekdays from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and weekends noon- 5 p.m. Free games and activities are available every day during regular store hours.

See Santa at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Just a Short Drive from Branson

Bass Pro Shops Santa’s Wonderland is back this year in with more Santa appearances, free crafts, games, activities and more for families all over the Ozarks.

The Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, just north of Branson, will be hosting the always jolly Santa and even more Christmas fun beginning November 15 and lasting until December 24.

Santa’s Wonderland includes free games and activities, festive holiday crafts like homemade ornaments and a free photo with Santa. A Bass Pass will allow you to avoid the long line of people waiting to get a photo with Santa by specifying a specific time for you to return to Santa’s Wonderland for you photo. Until that designated time, you can feel free to browse the store and shop instead of wasting time waiting in line. There are a limited about of Bass Passes so make sure to pick one up while you still can! Mondays through Thursdays are generally the best time to come take a picture with Santa because wait times are shorter.

Springfield is just a 45 minute drive north of Branson, so make it a day trip and head to Bass Pro Shops where Christmas fun awaits you alongside the hottest outdoor supplies, apparel and decor.

Introducing the New Bass Pro Shops Truck

Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops are on yet another business venture. Toyota has teamed up with Bass Pro Shops to introduce the new Bass Pro Shops Truck, a special edition Tundra to be available next month.

The new 2015 Toyota Tundra Bass Pro Shops Off-Road Edition truck is available exclusively in the color silver and features a “4×4 CrewMax SR5 configuration, which offers extra space for outdoor gear,” according to the San Antonio Business Journal.

The truck also includes a tow package that allows drivers to tow boats, UTVs or ATVs.

The all new truck will be available for purchase in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma and those who purchase it will also receive their choice of an outdoor gear lifestyle package from Bass Pro Shops valued at about $1,000.

Not Just Your Average Fall Festival: FarmFest

The Ozark Fall FarmFest is just for all you farmers out there and it’s coming to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield October 3-5 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.

For the past 30 years, FarmFest has been bringing anything and everything agriculture to the fairgrounds and this year is no different.

A number of indoor and outdoor exhibits will feature livestock exhibitions and live animal displays of boer goats, cattle, sheep, horses, hogs and dairy goats. The exhibitions allow stockmen and women the ability to view different kinds of available breeding stock and learn more about the animals from the producers themselves.

Browse the variety of animal health products, feed, forage equipment from vendors and check out the rural living displays that showcase a collection of numerous products designed to enhance the rural lifestyle.

Parking and admission are free so make your plans to head to Springfield next weekend if you’re in the Ozarks area!
