Branson Musician Takes the Stage for ‘American Idol’

If you remember, this past July ‘American Idol‘ packed the Branson Landing with hopeful area musicians, waiting for their chance to impress the popular television show’s judges.

Well according to the Branson Tri-Lakes News, 22-year-old Ellen Petersen of the Petersen Family Bluegrass Band will be featured on the season premiere alongside dozens of other musicians and given the chance to travel to Hollywood to pursue the title of the next American Idol.

The Petersen Family moved to Branson in 2007 and now performs the Peterson Family Bluegrass Show onstage at the Little Opry Theatre inside the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex. Ellen sings and plays a unique hot pink Hopkins banjo.

Check out the season debut on Fox, January 7 and 8 to see if Ellen can make it past the next level of judging.

  1. How cool to have someone from the area on the show! I am surprised we haven’t had more Branson singers featured. Definitely have to check it out.
