Food Friday: Sadie’s Sideboard

sadie's sideboardFor some, Sadie’s Sideboard has become a family tradition. It was the first buffet to open in Branson and has been around for 32 years now. Unfortunately, if you’re one of those Branson foodies that loves Sadies, you’ll want to stop by for a meal sometime before January because beginning with the new year, Sadie’s will no longer be open.

I stopped in the other day to grab a quick lunch and some of the friendly waitresses chatted with me while I was waiting on my food. They told me that the management would be closing Sadie’s doors for good in January with the start of 2015 in order to renovate the building and bring in Buckingham’s.

I’m glad I stopped in before the big change though, because the food is pretty delicious! If you’re looking for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner, Sadie’s Sideboard is a tasty place to stop. The prices are great too!

lemon meringue pieThe menu at Sadie’s Sideboard has a large range of options for the whole family, ranging from sandwiches, specialty smokehouse platters, breakfast favorites and even a buffet option. This place doesn’t skimp on the dessert options either! Guests can choose from a variety of pies including blackberry, apple, peach, cherry, coconut cream, lemon meringue and chocolate cream.

I ordered the Pork Tenderloin sandwich with a side of french fries and it came served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle on the side. The pork was hand breaded and topped with a buttered bun and the french fries weren’t just plain, but seasoned and deliciously flavored. Overall, everything was pretty good but the service was even better.

The waitresses were very kind and since it was a Monday night they weren’t very busy so they took the opportunity to keep me company. It was greatly appreciated!

The decor was very warm and inviting and the dining room reminded me of my great grandma’s kitchen! So if you’re looking for a nice, homey place to sit down for a family meal, Sadie’s is the place to be.

Make sure you stop in before January so you can say you ate at the very first buffet to open in Branson.

Sadie’s Sideboard is at 2830 W. Highway 76, across the street from the Baldknobbers Country Music Theatre. Breakfast is served daily from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. with lunch 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dinner 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
