Lake Taneycomo Cleanup a Big Success for Branson

Lake TaneycomoThe 5th Annual Taneycomo Lake Cleanup was last Saturday and krzk.com reported that 40 volunteers helped remove almost 5 tons of trash from the shores of the lake.

A press release from Table Rock Water Quality, Inc. stated the two teams of volunteers (one in Branson and the other in Forsyth) gathered trash for hours last Saturday, resulting in a few surprises including:

  • boat dock parts
  • Styrofoam
  • car seating
  • 19 discarded tires
  • 5 tons of trash

According to the press release, the discarded tires will be recycled with the help of Taney County Transfer Station and Allied Waste Services.

Kanakuk Kamps, Lilleys’ Landing and Scotty’s Trout Dock & Marina provided the boats and drivers for the Taneycomo Cleanup.

Kudos to these volunteers and local businesses for stepping up to make sure visitors and residents can enjoy clean area lakes for generations to come.
