The Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex will be having a special screening of the documentary “Ghost Army,” which explores a secret military unit from World War II that was finally revealed more than 40 years after the war ended.
The unit was made up of young artists from across the country who traveled from France to Normandy using tricks and shams like inflatable tanks and pre-recorded sound effects in an effort to deceive enemy forces.
Many, many lives depended on the performances of the top secret unit known and the truth has finally surfaced with the Ghost Army documentary which features interviews with more than 20 veterans.
The IMAX will also be hosting the documentary’s producer, Rick Beyer and a traveling exhibit featuring a replica of one of the inflatable tanks. The event is being scheduled in conjunction with Branson’s Veteran’s Homecoming later this fall.
