With the growing social media attention the Ice Bucket Challenge has been bringing to ALS, support for neurological disorder research and awareness is growing. Bike MS is another series of events aimed at raising awareness of Multiple sclerosis and funds for research. It incorporates a series of 100 cycling events around the country, including the Ozarks.
The Bike MS: Ozarks Ride will take place September 6 and 7 in Clever, just 45 minutes north of Branson. The event is a two day bike ride through the scenic Ozark countryside. Fully-stocked rest stops are available every 10-15 miles and the overnight location is East Middle School in Joplin. The middle school will also host a festival at the end of the first day’s ride featuring massages, music and food for all riders.
Day two will begin with a free breakfast from Kansas City’s Chris Cakes followed by a return route back to Clever and a finish line celebration.
