Welk Resorts to Host Fashion Show Fundraiser

Welk Resorts will play host to more than 70 models, performers and musicians this Saturday at a rock ‘n roll high end fashion show fundraiser called Model.

The all day event benefits Dance Branson, a local dance and performing arts school and March of Dimes, an organization that funds lifesaving research and programs and works to end premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.

The fundraiser kicks off with a vendor fair from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. featuring more than 50 area vendors and four live rock bands including:

  • Paralandra: An independent rock band from Springfield, Missouri known for their high energy, original music and covers.
  • The Violet Hour: An independent rock band from Fort Smith, Arkansas with influences like Van Halen, Motley Crue and Radiohead.
  • Chasing Pictures: An independent alternative band from Fayetteville, Arkansas and winner of the 2014 Battle of the Bands.
  • Dead End Drive: A hard rock band from Central, Arkansas with influences like Shinedown and The Beatles.

In addition to vendors and live music, the fair will also include a car show, poker run, activities for kids, featured guests cover band Members Only, Prince Ivan and more.

At 7 p.m., the Runway Loud top design runway fashion show will begin, featuring 30 models and 20 local child models.
