Everyone’s trying to get their last bits of summer fun in before school starts and with registration, school supplies and back to school clothes shopping, money for a last minute vacation might be scarce.
That’s why now is the perfect time for a float trip in Branson! A fairly inexpensive way to experience the outdoors, floating is an activity that the whole family can enjoy. Plus, the Ozarks is known for its winding streams and rivers that feed into the three bigger lakes so the tri-lakes area is the perfect location to plan your final summer float trip.
What You’ll Need
- your boat, raft, canoe or kayak (If you don’t have these, you can rent them at several locations in Branson including White River Kayaking and Outdoors or Kayak Branson)
- GPS enabled cell phone
- waterproof bags for any electronics
- swimsuit and dry clothes
- dry food containers
- bungee cords (to strap belongings to the canoe/kayak in case it tips)
- beverages in plastic containers (the state of Missouri forbids glass containers on the water)
- waterproof shoes
The White River is a great location to go on a family floating trip. It’s right in the middle of all the Branson action but it still provides a way to escape the city and enjoy some good ol’ outdoor recreation.
Observe all the interesting wildlife, go fishing, take in the beautiful sights of the rolling Ozark hills or just sit back and relax. Not to mention, kayaking or canoeing are great workouts, though you’re usually too busy having fun to even notice!
