Summer is the perfect time to pick up some locally grown fruit and vegetables at the area orchards while enjoying the sun and amazing summer weather of the Ozarks with your family. Plan a family day trip to one of the lush orchards just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Branson’s entertainment district and enjoy the precious memories made as well as the delicious, healthy food you’ll bring back home with you.

Sunshine Valley FarmSunshine Valley Farm

Sunshine Valley Farm grows 18 varieties of apples, peaches and plums. Go with a group and pick your own blueberries and black raspberries or buy them prepackaged for your convenience. According to their fruit ripening calendar, peaches and raspberries are also in season in July, so pick up some fresh fruit to snack on while you tour the sights and attractions in Branson. You can also visit the market and café onsite for fresh pie and other baked goods. Sunshine Valley Farm is located at 8125 A.D. Hwy., Rogersville, MO. Hours are Tuesday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday noon-3 p.m.

With three different locations, you can tailor your trip based on what you are wanting to buy. Check out the farmers markets in Ozark and Springfield for fresh produce from Ozark Mountain Orchard and while you’re there, visit the other vendors for more locally grown and homemade products. With an abundance of peaches, blackberries and blueberries harvested for the season, you are bound to find some delicious and healthy foods grown right here in the Ozarks. The retail store is located at 4564 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65810 and is open Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Farmers Market of the Ozarks is located at 2144 E. Republic Rd., Springfield, MO 65804 and is open Thursday 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The Ozark Downtown Farmers Market is located at N. 2nd Street, Ozark, MO 65721 and is open Wednesday 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Though the Arkansas address might be alarming, this farm market is just a 20 minute drive south of Branson over the Arkansas border. It’s the perfect place to spend a summer day browsing the variety of fresh produce, dried fruit and nuts, jams, jellies, honey and more. Roberson Orchards & Farm Market is located at 11681 Hwy. 14 E., Omaha, AR, 72662 and the hours are Monday-Sunday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

  1. The weather is great right now, and everything in Branson is so beautiful! I love driving and walking in and around Branson… my kids do too!!!
