Run the Lights

old time christmasThis weekend I went to Silver Dollar City’s Run the Lights event. Run the Lights is a 5k charity event which supports The Caring People, an organization devoted to helping single moms.

Now, I’m not exactly the most athletic person but my super healthy, marathon running friend recommended I come and I ended up loving it.

Let me break down some of the awesome perks:

1. Admittance into the park at 6 PM, that’s three full hours of free park time! Time I spent riding the Barn Swing and enjoying their Christmas parade.

2. A free day pass to be used during the ‘An Old Time Christmas’ festival.

3. Free shirt (a.k.a. proof that lazy me can walk 5 kilometers)

4. A chance to contribute to an outstanding charity while enjoying some beautiful Christmas lights!

I learned that this was the 8th Run the Lights event. Missed your chance this year? Join me next year for this truly spectacular 5k.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever participated in this event and what you think!
