This Friday, July 27th through August 4th, you can attend the Ozark Empire Fair at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds for great food, carnival rides, musical events and more! This week-long event is a favorite in the Ozark area and brings back the fun of years past, while mixing in more contemporary excitement.
The fair is open from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. every day. The Midway opens at 1:00 p.m., while the livestock shows begin at 8:00 a.m. It’s $6 for guests 13 and up, $2 for guests between ages 6 and 12 and free for everyone 5 years and under. You can also get a superpass for $20 and get admission into the fair plus a ride armband. Parking per day is $4.
Livestock shows include those of cattle, goats, llamas, rabbits, sheep and swine. You can compete with your livestock, or you can attend just to learn more about the different animals.
The Fox KRBK Midway features all the different rides. A free ride day takes place on August 1 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Admission to the fair is still required on this day, but all of the rides are free. Every other day, you can get 4 tickets to the rides for $5, 20 tickets for $20 or all-day armbands for $20 Monday through Thursday and $25 Friday through Sunday.
Also at the Ozark Empire Fair is “The Strong Man John Beatty,” who was featured on the 2011 season of “America’s Got Talent.” Watch him lift, bend, flip, break and pull objects in a demonstration you have to see to believe. The “Ham Bone Express” racing piglets are also present, and a karaoke every night at the KWTO/KTXR Stage is available.
Concerts include those by Glen Campbell, Dierks Bentley, various gospel artists, The Chapmans and the Cleverlys. Local artists are in attendance every day at the Palen Music Stage.
The Live Local Expo features farm fresh and healthy foods in Missouri, as well as a cooking stage, production and growing stages, a healthy grilling contest and a “Made in Missouri” market.
Other events include a KSPR Jeopardy game; the Ozarks Sports Zone Area; the KY3, Inc. Screening Room, where you can see pilots of three new shows coming to ABC and NBC in the fall; and the KY3 Olympics Lounge, where the Olympic Games will be covered everyday.
Events for the adrenaline-junkies include the “Monster Energy Insane Drifting & Freestyle Show,” bull riding performances and truck and tractor pulls.
Finally, there are many vendors bringing food in, including Audi’s Taco Shack, Elotes “Don Tono,” Jim Bigby, Hiland Dairy, Jay’s Deelux Taters, Sno Biz, Rudy’s BBQ, Southern MO Beef and the Ozark Empire Cafe. Enjoy all the concessions throughout the fairgrounds everyday.
All of these exciting activities and more are available during the Ozark Empire Fair. Attend this weekend or sometime next week to catch all of the musical events, rides, food, shows and more. This is one fair you will not want to miss.
The fair is located in Springfield, Missouri, near Branson. Hotels in Branson include the Hampton Inn Branson, the Best Western Branson Inn and Conference Center @ Silver Dollar City and the Barrington Hotel & Suites.
